MNT Reform Next mainboard, version 5! now with 2x SSD slots, especially one for (up to) 2280 size. that one has 4x PCIe 3.0 lanes routed to it with the RK3588. minor checks and cleanups tomorrow. then, steadily towards production!
(lol, of course after posting i notice that the 2280 mounting thread should be on the other side :D luckily that's just one keypress in kicad)
@mntmn The classic Reform and Pocket Reform silkscreens call it the "motherboard", respectively. Intentional change to "mainboard" for the Reform Next? For example the handbook has 1 mention of mainboard (accidental?) and 65 mentions of motherboard. I used to look up which one was the right term when talking about it in irc.

@josch yes, the change is intentional. :) we'll also update the other reform products in that regard (as soon as there's time).

@mntmn

@holo_memory @mntmn Wonderful. For what it's worth I find "mainboard" to be the better term and incidentally also the one that I wanted to use in the past.
@josch same 💚 i'm super excited we're doing this finally ^_^
@mntmn would this make software raid a possibility?
@mntmn might be useful to have additional threads/holes to be able to easily use shorter modules in the longer slot, too. If there's enough space between the traces, components, z-clearance etc...
@till plan for that is to use a 3d printed shim/adapter that's mounted on the 2280 thread
