Could she have been crazy or lying or something like that and still have disappeared? I mean, people do disappear sometimes. The two things aren’t necessarily related.
Like, if there was some guy who was always yelling about space aliens, and then one day he turns up missing, I’m not going to go “Ah, yes, the aliens must have finally gotten him!”
