Oh hum! Email from #GitHub.

We’re updating how GitHub uses data to improve AI-powered coding tools. From April 24 onward, your interactions with GitHub Copilot—including inputs, outputs, code snippets, and associated context—may be used to train and enhance AI models unless you opt out.

Opt outing:

1. Go to GitHub Account Settings
2. Select Copilot
3. Choose whether to allow your data to be used for AI model training
4. Turn off any and all enabled AI shite while you are at it.

Cheers.

@NormanDunbar Thank you - just done that!
@dtl Welcome. I wonder if they'll pay any attention? It's Microsoft after all.

@[email protected] Noticed one can also toggle of (for now at least) copilot showing at all!

Never used it, so went and disabled everything that could be disabled, yay for a cleaner UI.

@NormanDunbar I no longer have an account on github.

@skyfire747 Evening Anthony. Very wise.

I'm moving my stuff off soon too. I've got gitlab, github and codeberg. I'm probably going to codeberg.

@NormanDunbar ...aaaaaaaand done.

Also: Since last year, I publish new stuff "Codeberg-first" and self-host more sensitive stuff with #forgejo.
