Newsom’s retraction is more in line with his historical position than the “apartheid” comment was. Anybody trying to tell you that the governor is anti-Israel is confusing #Israel with Bibi. Netanyahu is a greater threat to the #Zionist dream than #Iran is.

But people not used to Israeli domestic politics wouldn't understand, why this government is so dangerous for Israeli society. It is not only the way dealing with the external security, which is the main problem, but within, paired with widespread corruption, bribery, neoliberalism a la Elon Musk, many power struggles, outdated laws and processes sometimes and closed minded people working in the administration. The problem is not just Bibi.

@Elischeva91 Absolutely. Indeed, Bibi was at one time nowhere near as extreme as he is today; he moved hard right for the sake of his horrifying coalition.

It’s been terrible to watch. His failure to follow through on the Kotel agreement; “judicial reform” that threatens the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary; his tolerance of blatant racism from within his own cabinet; his failure to curb settler terrorism; and of course the series of strategic and tactical blunders that opened the door to Oct 7. One disaster after another.
