A random question: My place was built with all the plumbing for a central-vac system that I have no intention of using ever. What alternative uses might I have, for this idle series of tubes? Right answers, speculative answers and hilariously wrong answers equally welcome.

I’m enjoying the wrong answers, but also curious why no central vacuum. It’s always seemed like a nice idea to me but I’ve never known anyone who had one.@mhoye

@clew the long tube you need basically weighs as much as a small vacuum and takes up more space. You don’t actually gain much of anything by having one, experience-wise.

I’d hoped that the dust collection and disposal was better. Have lived with asthmatics and it is always a Thing.

(Y not hose storage in walls also??)
