I used to believe that anyone saying TL;DR was just an asshole, but thanks to modern innovation the invention of llm summaries has automated the being-an-asshole process.

Somebody in a leadership position who uses language models to summarize what their reports tell them, and then send generated replies back is adding zero value to an organization and their dismissal will cost the company nothing.

@mhoye The other day, I posted a link to my "Selfish AI" article (arguing that it's unethical to ignore the ethical issues of AI, but so many people are that it gets harder and harder for the rest of us to avoid using) to someone... and they responded by feeding it through ChatGPT to summarize for them.

I was not amused...
