@bagder There might be a very slight connection though. QGIS (https://qgis.org) uses GDAL (https://gdal.org) which is an heavy & happy cURL user ! We implement cloud storage access through cURL: https://gdal.org/en/stable/user/virtual_file_systems.html#network-based-file-systems
Seeing also in https://sourceforge.net/p/saga-gis/wiki/Compiling%20SAGA%20on%20Linux/ that SAGA uses curl. Everyone uses cURL but you already knew it ;-)
