novelWriter

@julieninthesky I moved my WIP into novelWriter a while ago. What I found was that moving into it with a work that was already at 70K plus words felt wrong and somehow clashed with my established workflow. Separate chapter files just felt weird. I'll try again with the next volume, using it from the beginning.

On the other hand, the notes and tagging features provide a GREAT lightweight way to record and cross-reference info about plot points, timelines, characters, etc. Still using it for that

Thanks, I needs something to help me being organised so it might very well be IT :D

@julieninthesky I'm 3 volumes into a story with court intrigue and factions, and have no memory for names. Updating an actual wiki takes too many clicks and steps, and pulls me out of the story, but adding a NovelWriter project note is quick and doesn't break the flow too badly. And then I can add additional info and cross-references to the note later as they become useful.

There are several premade note categories for things like plot, characters locations, timeline, plus a custom category
