@zackwhittaker funny story. People predicted this back in the Bush II era, when legislators and regulators decided to give up a bunch of privacy in the name of security, but it was really all just corporatism under the hood.

I got the FCC chairman's pager number from a forum and paged him (I was but a pimple-faced teenager). HE CALLED ME, so I gave him a piece of my mind, telling him how if it was OK for the phone company to sell my data, his data was fair game too.
