High-speed rail works best when it connects cities of significant size that are 100 to 500 miles apart. That way, it can be an alternative to flying for business people or those on day trips. What then would be an unlikely city for #HSR? Denver. The only significant city in HSR range is Salt Lake City (373 miles). @otiswhite This is not correct. Front Range Passenger Rail will *not* be HSR. It will be plain-vanilla commuter rail, running on existing BNSF freight rail tracks.
