Is there no longer a solution for developers with iOS 18 test devices that still want security updates?

@kevinbhayes don’t think so. My 13 Pro is at 18.7.3 and on the developer beta, but I haven’t seen a single update offered since I installed .3 (during the very brief window when they offered it to 11+ iPhones before making it exclusive to XS and XR).

The good news is that at least DarkSword doesn’t work with 18.7.2 and up 🤷🏼‍♂️😅

@fmarini @kevinbhayes So buying XS or XR *is* a solution. With additional bonuses: Super cheap. There is no risk of it being updated accidentally to 26. And you can test for performance issues.

Not an excuse for Apple’s behavior. But optimal test device fleet forming strategy by accident avoids this issue.

@mrudokas @kevinbhayes well, that’s a way to look at things 😅

The other possibility is if you’re lucky like me and have a 18.7.2 or 18.7.3 device, but that won’t obviously last forever. I hope to be able to hold out till 27, and that it’s at least a bit better than the damn 26 🙄

But yeah, no excuse for not giving iPhone 11-16 users the choice to remain on 18, given that I’m positive 18.7.7 would work perfectly fine on those iPhones 🤷🏼‍♂️ Shitty behavior on Apple’s part, indeed.
