Well, I have a different post going out today because I didn't know about #EverQuestLegends until @stargrace's post. Somehow I missed it. But I'm in the Discord now soaking up the vibed.
@Tipa @stargrace I never got that far in EQ, so I'm very excited about this opportunity.

@scopique @stargrace People on Discord are assuming it's basically going to be The Hero's Journey; I didn't play that one.

Bizarrely, I played EQ this past weekend, checking out their anniversary celebration. It was in my queue to write about but that's off the table now.

@Tipa @scopique I did play THJ, and I loved it. It was wildly popular (I assumed they had full permission, I stopped once the court stuff happened) and I am hoping that EQL has the same sort of reception but backed by the company. The only 'downside' I see is that they will operate by subscription, and THJ was F2P (with "donations" and extras you could purchase) and people get squirrely when it comes to that - but I am cautiously optimistic.
@stargrace @scopique subs make it hard to form groups with friends, as a lot of people are very concerned with the number of subs they keep. If it were F2P like GW2, paying for base game, expansions and cosmetics but no monthly sub, it would be easier to get my static group onboard. I'll still try, since a bunch of us played EQ back in the day. Although the Discord folks are saying there was no content in THJ a duo couldn't do, so who knows.

@Tipa @scopique This is absolutely true, I played with the other half and it was enough for everything.

I'd like to see them drop the sub, or find some alternative way so that *everyone* can get that chance to explore this version of the game, but I get it, still a business, etc.
