Kinda want an MXP600 but expensive :(
is so tiny
Supports Dimetra Connect (basically VoLTE/VoWi-Fi but for TETRA) too, which may... some day... be reverse-engineered and supported by open-source stuff...
Also available in "overly-militarised police force olive green"
@ret as an aside, after wearing that color green for so long, I find that it's one of my favorites because I can easily coordinate it. That's just from all the years of wearing it I suppose.
@ret It is available in ATEX Orange as well?
@gorplop they never released an ATEx MXP600. If you want ATEx it's still the MTP8550Ex (which I think is an MTP6550 inside a case from their US-focussed APX P25 lineup...
@ret that funny hammer head shape cracks me up every time
@ret
Wouldn't that require somebody to have access to a Dimetra Connect setup with all the bells and whistles to play around with to develop that?
I wonder how strict anti reverse engineering clauses the license agreements from moto have.
@ftg yeah I doubt anything will ever come of it. Saying that, I do know some people who have access to some pretty decent gear so don’t rule it out!

@ret
I have some. Audio is good for the size. The user menus are not that advanced compared with my DMR Hyteras. Most things can't be programmed from the keyboard (eg. new groups).

Tons of separate licenses needed for eg. WAP, enhanced data services, etc.

CPS doesn't even run without internet connectivity to Moto servers (needs to check entitlement at each start of the program). Can't even move the program on another computer without talking to Moto tech support and changing the entitlement.

@ret
Plus, I don't even know if possible to access service menus to see cell service details, channel details, signal levels, BER and stuff like that. Perhaps they exist but the info is not public.

@yo8rzz interesting, cheers. Yeah I know Motorola have really upped their game on the CPS security lately.

Does the ol' * # left right left menu for Test Page access not work on the MXP600 (has to be enabled in the codeplug still)?

@ret
There might be a sequence for the test/ service menu, but I don't know it and did not find it in the CPS either.
