Tonight was going to be date night at a local restaurant, but then I remembered that we had tickets for the ASRC’s Feast for Freedom, with Sri Lankan & Palestinian asylum seeker chefs. Kon was inspirational as usual & the food was delicious. 2 MasterChef contestants were in attendance. Melbournians love their restaurant food, but spending money on good food for a good cause is particularly enjoyable.

Spotting a possum on the way home was a bonus. And yes, it was a dark sky.

@Susan60 I am one of those non-oz people who have been following #masterchefau for years, waiting for the new season 2 drop (although I feel it might be the last?)

the menu looks wonderful, hope you had a great night out

I haven’t watched the show for years now, not since the presenters changed. We liked it when it truly challenged people to cook excellent home style meals, & before complicated confections for desert became the norm. But I did like that it wasn’t designed to bring out the worst in people, unlike most other reality tv shows.

The food was delicious. Vegan, other than the halal chicken curry.

The cookbook put out by Kon as a fundraiser is worth a look.
