Trump’s decision to deploy ICE agents to U.S. airports didn’t come out of nowhere. It follows a pattern we’ve seen from him, beginning with the National Guard in Los Angeles and D.C., through his sending ICE agents to Minneapolis. Invariably, Trump deploys federal forces in service of his own political goals rather than public safety.
