@jacket @candle No idea, honestly. Given the relatively niche state of digital cameras in 1995 I would suspect either convergent evolution of devices that need a viewfinder LCD and some controls on one side with a device that needs a game display LCD and some controls on one side; but I can't rule out some industrial design inspiration from a camera.
