Tbh, there’s a whole marketing strategy that consists of lazily pissing off one side in order to appeal to the other side, and people in the middle will consume it so that they can have an informed take on the controversy. If the only selling point something has is that people you don’t like don’t like it, it’s probably not going to be very good, because it’s relying on controversy rather than its own merits. You can slap culture war shit onto any shitty product and it won’t suddenly be good.
