AE Aurigae and the Flaming Star #Nebula
AE Aurigae, a bright O-type star, illuminates the Flaming Star Nebula (IC 405) with scattered blue light and glowing hydrogen filaments. Born in Orion Nebula and ejected after close stellar encounters, it drifts away from its sibling star Mu Columbae. This image covers 5 light-years in Auriga.
