Dumb question, and I mean *dumb*...

Anyone ever installed Windows 3.1 on PC-DOS 7.0?

I've got a bad idea...

@TechTangents I definitely did on MS-DOS 7 (but so did microsoft with MINI.CAB, tbh)

what’s that idea? or is it just the general concept?

@domi That's basically it, just IBM's own DOS with Microsoft Windows on top.

It just feels wrong like it shouldn't work to me.

@TechTangents @domi Feels so wrong but the video of it will be so right.
@DanielMReck i cannot speak for @TechTangents - but considering my own channel (which is similar in scope), this doesn’t sound like a good hook at all. maybe for a short, but I refuse to participate in erosion of our collective attention spans even further…

It's not enough to be a whole video on its own, but I am considering it as a part of a larger video where it will make sense in a weird way.
@domi Totally fair. I really appreciate your devotion to quality. My comment was mostly a reaction to imagining @TechTangents's verbalized version of his posts here, in that expressive tone of curiosity and amusement that makes Shelby such a great narrator.

Never looked into the "Windows on cloned DOS"-thing, but it should be enough for at least 15 minutes of video (even without going into win9x and the the undocumented hooks/interfaces it needs).
