Assuming all of America, you wouldn’t need to worry about cutting open the gates. The pressure of all those people would push the gates down shortly after pressing a number of unlucky souls directly through them.

Not long. Commercial-grade angle grinders and/or torches could take out the hinges/latches pretty quickly … though you’re definitely going to lose quite a few welders in the meantime.
Bringing a bunch of ladders might be a better option, though. Just go over the gates/fences instead of through them. And that prevents the gate from being a choke point where they can hold back your superior numbers.
