I'm so old, I remember when you could go to Gold Circle and buy a blister pack of Yo-Yo strings in the toy section.
That is also why I learned to switch price tags; because, the Egyptian strings were twice as much as the cheap American made ones. And, well, I'm a criminal.

Friend of mine used to go into toys-r-us and buy the C64 2400 baud modem, stuff a C64 300 baud modem back in the box, and return it. He gave up when the 2400 boxes started to all have 300s in them.

(Actually not me, I had a Franklin with a Racal-Vadic 300 acoustic.)
