There’s a squall battering against the house tonight. I’ve never been a fan of the eerie sounds the wind makes.
@Emmacox Same storm hitting the side of our house, but I enjoy it. I'm a sailor, all my life, even in my heart now that I'm rooted onshore. It's in my nature to both respect and know kinship with the wind. Feeling our house standing strong against buffeting gusts puts me in mind of my old freedom.
@DavidBridger I understand that. I respect and find awe in the sea in a similar fashion. I respect all the elements, but for some reason the sound of the wind fires up a primal fear I cannot find an exact reason for. The whistling moans it makes through our sycamore is particularly mournful. But it’s the sudden gusts that punch the house that I don’t like.
@Emmacox I understand. The wind has rested now, and I hope you are able to rest too. x
@DavidBridger it kept going through the night. 60mph gusts but they have eased to 50mph now.
