It's funny, when faced with things like this we have to tighten up our language about what exactly the "thing" is in "nothing travels faster than light".
@dpiponi If the "shadow" is the 3D volume without light, it doesn't travel faster than light, but if it's the intersection with a 2D surface, then it does. (Similarly: phase velocity of waves can exceed c).
