@yon at least it's easy to spot sometimes, because the project just spawns from nowhere and *looks* way too polished to be credible
@LukaTheMouse They seem to have a way to produce a certain kind of code. The weird bloated over-engineered kind written by someone with odd ideas and negative social skills.
We shall see what happens with open source. I feel too much commercial aspects have already affected it and this will make it worse:(
(I find that 50/50 commercial/open source tends to be awful. I find it better when commercial uses open source, but funds it separately. Godot is a good success story example.)
@yon the android handheld emulation comunities seems to have so many vibe coded projects pop up now. I trust none of them, to date, each ones were vibe coded lol
I'm not too familiar with how comercial + open source works so i don't have a strong opinion on it!
@LukaTheMouse Itโs when someone tried to build a business on their open source software and then inevitably starts locking things down to force payment. Itโs happened a lot lately around the server space. Docker, local stack, etc.
But enough about my option on open source:) Thereโs no way any of that will be maintained so I hope it dies away and the good projects prevail.
