Why Doesn't the Netherlands Speak German?

@breki74 Also interesting: the similarities between the Frisian language, spoken in the northern parts of the Netherlands, and the English language, while being different from the Dutch language.
Frisian: bûter, brea en griene tsiis (pronounced as 'greene tsees')
English: butter, bread and green cheese
Dutch: boter, brood en groene kaas (pronounced as 'gchgchgchroone kahs')
