I see your point. They are killing without respecting due process or law, so why should they receive such consideration themselves? Also, without such a final judgement, they can be pardoned and set upon us again.

I want them to be inconvenienced for longer than it takes for a humane execution, though, and I'm historically against a death penalty.

@seachanged i have no interest in the suffering of others, my interest is in the opposite. why should a rabid dog be chained up and tortured if its bitten me? can i reason with it? will it being chained heal my wound?

They are thinking beings, intentionally inflicting harm, not animals with diseased nervous systems. There is more than harm reduction in play: they are accountable.

If they were uncurably rabid animals, I would agree with you.
