@TagYourToe They want to be re-elected and they want campaign funding. Do you think politicians should operate without any kind of feedback while in office? Am I misunderstanding you? I think our representatives in our government should also be praised for their good deeds but that doesn't carry as much weight in the world we live in.

When I spoke with the operator at Dianna Degette's office, they reiterated that the Congresswoman has been against DHS from the beginning and has been consistently fighting funding of ICE. It was a congenial and productive if brief conversation. You don't need to call and be vitriolic. Just let them know what your opinion is and be done with it.

@TagYourToe if dems weren't confirming appointees and if they hadn't caved on other things then maybe. We have to keep the pressure on them. I'd rather not find out after they gave in that I could have called. I really don't see a downside to reminding them they work for us. What's the worst case scenario, they give in to spite us?

@TagYourToe counterpoint: if they keep working with Republicans, it proves that to be the case. They need to earn my vote. They don't get elected simply because there's a 'D' next to their name. It's a simple calculus, either they show resistance or they lose their seats. I hope those seats are filled by people that give a damn. They need to stop playing political games for imaginary points.

@TagYourToe and this is why I'm an independent. Democrats are mostly Republicans by a different name. Keep blindly supporting a team that practically refuses to play in the game, see how far that gets you. I hope you enjoy all the influence that AIPAC money is buying within the caucus.
