Paramount stated that Starfleet Academy was cancelled due to high production costs & low viewership. An obvious unstated reason is that the usual suspects deemed it "über woke" but I must confess this: I'm dedicated Trekkie & the author of The Biology of Star Trek. Yet I could only bring myself to watch a couple of Academy episodes; the series was poor even as stock YA fare & lazily using the franchise name to carry it.
