@simon_brooke I’d guess it’s all of the above in fairly equal measure. Plus a bit of fear of spurious accusations of anti-Semitism from the shit-stirring press/media. Plus having the political nous of a dead rat and being most interested in whatever they think might be likely to help them keep their snouts in the trough.

Not that the Selfservatives or Refill-Nigel’s-Wallet would be any better - they’d be even worse.

@adrianww surely the spurious accusations of antisemitism came from within the current leadership of the party in support of their coup plot?

But, the real question I'm asking myself would be whether setting up a pro-Palestine political donations fund would move the dial at all? A lot of people in the UK — and especially within #UKLabour membership and core support — are pro-Palestine and might donate to such a fund.

@simon_brooke You’re probably right there but they all run scared of such accusations because it’s a loaded, weaponised term. And we all know why that is the case but too few seem to have noticed that the Israeli government’s behaviour often bears more than a few similarities to you-know-who.

As for a fund, I suspect setting up a pro-Palestinian anything at the moment will just get you time in court facing trumped-up charges while any monies get expropriated.

@adrianww @simon_brooke
Yes. They don't see any defence against such accusations. Unlike normal people who have access to the "what the fuck are you talking about?" defence.
