Introducing the RSI Aurora Mk II
Introducing the RSI Aurora Mk II
It looks cool and all but I feel like it misses the mark on the whole “cheap and basic” idea behind the original. Nice for the new players and those who like the modern RSI style but personally, I’ll stick with the classic.
Flying brick > stupid insect.
I hope CIG does not completely obsolete the Aurora Mk I with this.
Obviously it’ll win in combat related spec (Guns & maneuverability, because marketing), but hopefully the MK I has appreciably better fuel capacity, mileage. SCU capacity is irrelevant, unless the Mk II has no capacity.
Lastly, if the MkII can’t fit a Mirai Pulse then it’s officially inferior, lol.
Mk II has modules (you can see them in the background video here) so you’ll be able to decide on cargo capacity up to 6 SCU (same as the old Aurora Clipper). It also looks a bit bigger than the original so I’m expecting a slightly expanded interior.
Other than that, we should get some stats tomorrow so hopefully that’ll give us some idea on where it stands. Classic Hornet didn’t become completely useless so I hope it’ll be the same with Chris’ favourite brand. It has to be, right?

Roberts Space Industries is the official go-to website for all news about Star Citizen and Squadron 42. It also hosts the online store for game items and merch, as well as all the community tools used by our fans.
It does look much bigger, so you’re probably right.
On the downside there, it’ll no longer fit in a Carrack, and possibly not in an 890J either. Hell, I’ve seen four Aurora MK I’s fit in a C2 as a pocket carrier. I guess that’s not feasible either, lol.
I wonder if there’ll be any CCU options for Aurora MK I owners.
