A new immunotherapy is showing rare promise against advanced prostate cancer, a disease long thought resistant to this kind of treatment. In an early trial of 58 men whose cancer no longer responded to standard care, 88% had only mild side effects; and five of 11 men with measurable tumours saw them shrink.
