@wdlindsy I think it was Reagan’s advisors that opined that an educated electorate was a danger to their cause.
Which I suppose explains why countries like Cuba and China educate their young folk and America does everything they can to avoid it

@peterbrown @wdlindsy Nixon advisor Roger Freeman in 1970 stated “We are in danger of producing an educated proletariat,” followed by “We have to be selective on who we allow to go through [higher education],”
