Just a reminder, you can still watch older #StarTrek on Pluto TV, Roku, H&I, any others? #FkParamount
@Phangurl CTV and CTV Sci-fi Channel still carry TNG, Voyager, Discovery and Lower Decks in Canada.
@Phangurl You probably know, Paramount owns Pluto. Gotta love the irony.
@johnhood yeah. πŸ’― but at least I'm not giving them any money directly and I mute and look at my phone during commercials. Or walk away during commercials. πŸ˜‚
@Phangurl I like Tubi, too! πŸ˜‚
@Phangurl Pluto TV is Paramount owned.
@jacobrealo please refer to my answer to John Hood above. My point is not to pay them.
@Phangurl Or… if anybody wants, uh, copies of their own… I might know where they can be acquired…
@Phangurl Or you can buy them? But I guess that money still goes to Paramount... πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
@scentedmeat I did think about that. It'd be super expensive to buy all of them but at least the money would only go to them once as opposed to for years and years and years? I don't know. Oooh. I know...buy the DVDs used! (If you could find them.) But then again we want them to have a financial incentive to do more star trek. We do that by buying the dvds? Isn't P+ a publicly held company? If so, then Ellison has to answer to the board of directors if there's a massive drop in subscribers. He may be the majority shareholder? I don't know.
@Phangurl I only buy digital these days. Rather do that than have more "stuff. Sure it gives them $$$, but it's only once instead of recurring and it sends a signal about what people like and spend money on.
@scentedmeat that's true. And digital is cheaper and easier to access but there was a court case that said we don't really "own" digital. You don't worry about losing your investment?
@Phangurl I have been aware of this for a loooong time. As a very bad Buddhist, I know that attachments can be really bad. If I lose em, I lose em.
@scentedmeat I like that. At the end of the day it's just things.
