I feel a great sense of loss over the #StarfleetAcademy cancellation. I knew it was coming bc of who owns Paramount but it still feels like a gut punch. I've been thinking a lot of grief, pain and loss lately. They can cancel this show, they can leave us in limbo over #DoctorWho's future, they can try to silence our voices of dissension but they won't succeed. We are still a creative force for good. Collectively we continue the fight. They will not break our spirit. We continue to #RESIST!! #StarTrek #uspol
@Phangurl Same here. There are a lot of bad faith actors trying to sway or quelch the few optimistic and/or humanist genre shows we have, and for now they seem to succeed. The Youtube algorithms work in their favour, the current Overton window too.
I'm wondering if a concerted effort by fans and organisations, on free platforms like the Fediverse, could be a show of resistance. Or at least support both creators and audiences trampled in these negativity stampedes?
