one of the many ways in that years and years of Mastodon have ruined me is the trope where a mad scientist or crazed necromancer reveals a big monstrosity full of undead, insect, tentacly or Gigeresque appendages, and the evil creator goes like "hahaha my masterpiece, isn't she lovely?!" and we're supposed to find the creature horrific and the doctor insane for finding her beautiful but instead I now feel like, "why yes doctor great job, congrats, I love the work you did on the bits with the multiple rows of teeth atop those tails, orange tinge for the goo was a nice touch. say, do you know if she's into girls…?"
@elilla mastodon is kind of like tunblr but in a way that I am able to understand
@elilla hey that description sounds like one of my mutuals
@elilla I'm reminded of the book "Kumari Loves A Monster" published in India by @blaft . I think it's available as an ebook now and will be in print soon. The monsters may not be specifically female, but that's in the eye of the beholder, no?
@titia @elilla Yes! Back in print next month! The monsters are all a little genderfluid
