A lot of people are understandably bummed by the cancellation of #StarfleetAcademy - and by the prospect of no new #StarTrek in the foreseeable future.

More often than not, I found myself disappointed by the writing & cinematography
in the modern Trek shows. IMO, the 2 animated shows were the best of new trek.

I don’t mind if we don’t get new Trek anytime soon. I never tire of rewatching classic Trek, and there's around 700 episodes & 10 films.

That's how I see it. I feel like the world's passed me by. Even the shows I like get an asterisk next to them, cause the enjoyment is under "current conditions".

I like 90s design sensibilities, and technological limitations. Those limitations enforced a certain kind of story that I prefer over the 'anything can happen' style now. I feel like it grounded stories in a relatable realism. Oh, and 20+ episode seasons.

When it's been good, it's been REALLY good. And it was Lower Decks for me, that particularly made it all worthwhile. But I think it's time to accept this "era" of Trek has had its day. Thanks for the memories 🙏

@sezduck Agree. I keep saying “it’s OK and I’m glad it exists” re: modern Trek. Probably wouldn’t bother with it if it wasn’t Trek tho.

Doing a chronological watch with Kiddo and we are only on DS9 S2 so I still have a lot to keep me busy for a while.
