@nextcloud I think standard practice in big organizations is to get solutions provided by big well-known providers who wrap everything in a big blanket of comfort. IBM in the day. Adobe now. My university is a Microsoft shop.
Comfort is things like support, predicted lifetime of the systems, community of users, ease of installation, conversion, maintenance.
What happens if all your skilled people leave? Who do you call?

@mormegil @nextcloud In case of Czech republic one of the problem is also lack of suppliers. Proprietary SW has strong continous push from suppliers, but for opensource is problem to find support.
Not so much case od Mastodon, but NextCloud yes.
