‚Two Italian anarchists, Alessandro Mercogliano (Sandro) and Sara Ardizzone, died on Friday in an explosion on the outskirts of Rome. According to authorities, they were preparing explosives in a cottage in the Acquedotti park area. 
Both Mercogliano and Ardizzone were veterans of the anarchist movement in Italy. Mercogliano was arrested in 2016 and accused of association with the fabricated “Informal Anarchist Federation”. Upon his arrival in Ferrara prison, he refused to provide fingerprints or have his photograph taken, and was sentenced to 15 days in solitary confinement. Sentenced to five years, he was acquitted on appeal in 2020….‘

@autonomysolidarity I am greatly in favor of anarchy or consensus-based decision-making. But it is not going to come about through violence. I'm sorry they died, but this was a bad mistake all around. Not only is it dangerous to the activists who use violence, it gives authoritarians another excuse to imprison and kill anarcho-activists who are peaceful and working to change in a non-violent way.

@autonomysolidarity Fair point, but then what happened? Is it also not true that other people who used violence have been killed by their own explosives? So, let us say that it is never a good idea to use violence to get what you want.
@autonomysolidarity Never. I'm aware of Gelderloos and I do not agree with him at all. Violence begets violence and only gives the authoritarians more excuses to attack everyone, even non-violent anarcho-activists, who are against the nation-states.
