Everyone's glazing them in the comments, telling them what a marvelous parent they are and how rowdy children are badly parented and probably given an iPad at every opportunity.

The truth, though: children come out factory pre-programmed. Some are naturally chill! Your child sitting still at a table has approximately zero to do with your routines and ideas. Ask me how I know this.

@danschnau probably! But they also may not, in which case they will eternally pat themselves on the back and give unsolicited advice on how to handle stuff they have no idea about

@danschnau we own zero iPads, eat all meals as a family, read to our children every day, make sure they get enough sleep and exercise, and we’ve been consistent over almost ten years now. Daughter does just fine but the boy is still basically feral and showing no signs of ever domesticating. Brush his teeth, like we’ve done literally thousands of times now? He’s gonna fight me. Get dressed for school, like we’ve done hundreds of times now? He’s gonna fight me. He’s not a sit still type of person

@hejsna Oh god, yes, I know for a fact my wife and I have reasonable humaning and parenting skills, but our autistic kids have been hard mode.
