Well, at least the 3 speedruns on my re-discovered Thinkpad were all unsuccessfull. Macaroni, Mocaccino and Porteux, for various reasons, didn't work out. At least Macaroni offered me Plasma 5.27, that was nice 😂

@thesaigoneer @jloc0 I went with i3 testing but some packages I need were missing from luet so I switched to gnome
@Kamu106
Interesting! Noticed both Macaroni and Mocaccino use luet as package manager. Why you'd do that when you have portage ? Well, at least they both enable easy encryption through the installer. In that part practically all non-systemd distros lag behind imho. Should be an option in all installers these days.
Edit: with the exception of Alpine, which has it as an option.
@jloc0
@thesaigoneer @jloc0 I believe luet was to make it so everything doesn't need to be complied, but I think you can enable portage if you want to
@Kamu106 yep, think you have a point there (although Gentoo now has a ton of binary packages also)
@jloc0
@thesaigoneer @jloc0 luet has been developed since Sabayon Linux ended and the Macaroni and Mocaccino developers are from the Sabayon team
