can people who read the project hail mary book tell me whether the movie disappoints
@atsuzaki my partner read it and he really liked the movie!! he said some of the visuals are like what he imagined from reading the book :)
@koronkebitch @atsuzaki yeah, I have mostly heard generally positive things from friends who enjoyed the book. (I think we're going to see it tonight, so I might report back with my own thoughts later.)
@koronkebitch @atsuzaki can confirm, it was very fun and a good adaptation. if you liked the book, I think you'll like the movie.

@koronkebitch @atsuzaki actually in some ways I think I prefer the film? which isn't usually where I stand on these things. to be fair, I read the book three years ago (almost exactly, it seems); it could be I'd have different thoughts if I read it more recently maybe.

still, it was very fun!

@pdarragh @koronkebitch @atsuzaki in my opinion, the best time to watch a movie adaptation is always several years after reading the book, because then you get the fond reminiscence but don’t remember enough to be disappointed by what changed
