Apokalypse wann?

There’s definitely a lot of “if I am not getting exactly what I want, I am going to make sure that no one gets anything they want” behaviour behind this. 40-60 year old fans of 90s Star Trek are not the advertisers’ or streamers’ target demographic anymore but they want shows to be made as if they are. There’s also the polarization of US society at play.

The US magazine *Psychology Today* published an article about the phenomenon “The Trouble With Review Bombing.”

There is, by the way, already a petition to save the show that was posted by someone in the UK.

The Trouble with Review Bombing

Why are shows like Starfleet Academy and Shrinking flooded with one-star reviews? The answer may reveal less about television—and more about the psychology of culture wars.

@codenaga there's another side of it: Paramount and their distribution strategy. I loved the show. I can't say I loved it on Paramount Plus though, because I don't and won't subscribe to a whole service for one show.

The shitty people that destroyed it in hot-takes YouTube reviews think that Star Trek is in the hands of woke culture; I think it's in the hands of a mediocre media company that wants to be both in the production and distribution business and it's burning star trek as fuel for a machine going nowhere.

@signaleleven you're absolutely correct. The people deciding the future of star trek financially are not the ones having great ideas and a clear vision of the star trek future.
@signaleleven @codenaga
Star Trek? Woke?
Star Trek hasn't changed it's "wokeness" level since it's creation.
@codenaga There is a first petition for a third season, maybe interesting for you 🙂
