I mean, that's a bastardisation of a weird Victorian tradition, but the Norse heritage is strong up here. Shetland is more Scandi than it is Scottish.
Lerwick = Leirvik ("Muddy Bay") in old Norse. I live on the island this Pictish stone was discovered. 😂
