I mean, that's a bastardisation of a weird Victorian tradition, but the Norse heritage is strong up here. Shetland is more Scandi than it is Scottish.
Lerwick = Leirvik ("Muddy Bay") in old Norse. I live on the island this Pictish stone was discovered. 😂

@welshpixie Seriously though, we get tens of thousands of tourists arriving in cruise ships every year. A lot of Americans and the like. I reckon "My other car is a drakkar" bumper stickers would sell really well.

@welshpixie @andy Also the Shetland Museum has a good shop and sells online. Whilst I think Viking stuff would sell well, I think maybe Sheatlan (which I have suddenly forgotten how to spell) is probably more appropriate than pure Norse.
