I made a telegram bot to manage docker containers

I like the general idea but I won’t give a messenger that is not open source access to anything. Some people wouldn’t even consider using their phone for this at all.
Hello thanks for your comment. I think I can add cross app support. Like slack/signal/matrix.
That’s always nice.
Sure, why not give control of your servers to a shady Dubai-based entity closely tied with FSB? istories.media/en/stories/2025/…/telegram-fsb/
Telegram, the FSB, and the Man in the Middle

The technical infrastructure that underpins Telegram is controlled by a man whose companies have collaborated with Russian intelligence services. An investigation by IStories

It may be a shady company, but Russia is blocking Telegram because it is not complying with the regulations.
That’s a cool idea! As others, I’m not too keen on using Telegram. Would it run with other messaging apps like Signal or Threema?
Thats a good idea. I will search if signal supports bots like telegram and i want to add signal support in future
Interesting, didn’t know Telegram can have interactive UI for bots like this.
Why not just ssh from a mobile device using a more secure app?
Because my bot can send notification when a container exists. Can be useful for monitoring

Not to crap all over your project OP, I think the idea is a good one. Maybe if we could have the choice of Telegram, or Slack, or some other service, or as @[email protected] said, just ssh in. Telegram is pretty neat and all, but I’ve never been convinced of it’s security. I did test it out once, and even though I only used it in the manner of which you are, to administrate containers, I got a lot of spam of the x-rated kind which are usually just scams.

  • great idea
  • might need some options
Thanks for your opnions. I think I can add slack/signal support too.
You bet. Best of luck with your project. The more the merrier.
Is there some kind of project url or am I just blind?
would this work over reticulum with a client like sideband?

I would recommend a different chat, ideally one that can be self hosted.

Telegram is closed source corporate hosted with security not zero knowledge verified and when I used it I can confirm that it gave ads in chat and I just looked up and Grok is intergrated
