@keira_reckons The crux of this, as with so much at the moment, is the lack of critical thinking skills. The step that ideally comes directly after hearing or reading something when you ask “Is this at all credible?”. Without this we tend to trust anyone with any position of ‘authority’.

It’s a hard skill to learn especially later in life, but essential. It should be a mandatory part of school curricula.
