There are so many places to see cherry blossoms in Kyotō, too many sites to talk about, that I thought I would focus on a few favourite spots.

The first is a location that claims to be the oldest Tenmangū shrine in Japan!

@hallvors You have lots of time. A few weeks at least. Many varieties all blooming at different times.

I'm coming to Kyoto with 30 children and youngsters this Sunday (fortunately some other adults to look after them too). I love Kyomizudera, but I don't really know what it's like to visit during peak season.. is it a very bad idea to try to go there with a big group?
