To put on the #mmt hat here, the government spends money into existence. There’s no separate money printing process.
What that means is where the government spends money is a moral choice to create the money for that spending. It can be spent on Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos or it can be spent on universal healthcare, public health science research climate monitoring and education.
Working people have hand their money over to destruction while the rich keep theirs
This is the moral dynamic of the US government right now, because the only thing our federal taxes do is decrease the negative balance, but we incorrectly call debt, which only represents all the money the government has issued. That’s the money supply that is all the positive balances and peoples in business businesses bank accounts.
Taxation is a choice of which money is going to be trimmed. If would preferably be nice to get rid of the stuff that’s inflicting social cancer.
Let's remember ATC has been understaffed and over worked since 1981, when Reagan made them an example of them when destroying collective bargaining/the unions.
