I've recently been trying to find a vegan/vegetarian food that hit the "very fatty protein" kinda vibe. like,, cheesesteak sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers,, all done well hit this spot. also i wonder if iron is a component of why i like those things.. none of them are healthy,, but like,, fuck me i wanna enjoy life.

impossible meat could be an option.. but something about relying on highly processed food kinda.. unsettles me.

idk. i guess if I do successfully become vegan(or vegetarian, whatever i can manage) I'm probably gonna have to buy stuff like,, vegan cheese and stuff. Like,, I'm an arfid girlie and,, cheese is important.
@tavi sadly, cheese is the only thing we don't have really good substitutes for... usually don't taste quite as good and lack much protein

but if you mostly want it for a "very fatty protein" vibe, and can get the protein itself from other components, maybe that's okay...
@evin i was thinking of it more for its fat content than its protein
@tavi well that's good to hear

hey, if you ever visit my area, i should take you to "Pi Vegan Pizzeria". i'd be curious your opinion on it. Anna at least thinks really highly of that place

it's on me 😅
@tavi Red(have not tried others) lentils are great, I just need to figure out what to do with them!
@malice i generally don't like beans... which is kinda a problem if i want to be vegan...
@tavi hmmmmm

i don't think i have a suggestion that hits this spot perfectly... besides fancy meat/cheese substitutes like impossible meat. but i wonder... is mac n cheese in this category? because i do know a vegan version of that that i think is quite good... and, i don't know how 'highly processed' it really is, but it at least doesn't *feel* highly processed to me... like impossible meat does... because most of the mass is just mac, i guess...

i was also going to ask if something with refried beans could fill this itch to some extent... but then i realized, the refried beans without animal fat don't actually have much fats in them... they still kinda *feel* like they do to me, tho...
