Given how shitty humanity has historically been, I would be happy surprised if any large population isn’t at least 20% racist. It’s more a matter of how loud the racists think they can be without getting in trouble.

20% is way too low. Plenty of people aren’t outwardly racist, but they’re racist.

IMO unknowingly holding a bigoted opinion applies to everyone but that doesn’t make you a bad person in itself. Failing to correct those beliefs when challenged is what makes you a bad person.
