I find the fact that Ubuntu updates can fail to build a wifi kernel module, then update grub to point at that broken kernel and then effictively brick my MacBook Air to be a good reason normal humans will have a hard time switching off things like Windows.
@w00tdude I used to run Linux exclusively until I had enough money to buy a Mac. Once on Mac, I would try installing Linux on an old MacBook every few years, but it was always disappointing how little things have improved in this regard over the last 20 years.
This past year I decided to do the same on a windows desktop, and that experience was actually notably better than trying to run Linux on Apple hardware.
